If you want to get castles you should: Come there before your marshal comes and besiege it, wait for marshal to come with whole army and then start sieging it. If you do this you will get few lords to support. Have higher relation with more lords, then you can ask them to support you when asking about who should recieve the fief.

It is very hard to get a big army in Native without cheating/tweaking/modding. It is not impossible, though. 4500 renown will give you 200+ party size, with minimal leadership and charisma. Of course, 4500 renown is not trivial to get. Other mods have a lot more ways of increasing party size: - bonuses for being a lord, a marshal or a king.

I saw that but the formula it lists seems not to match with the army sizes my lords have. For example, my lord that was a companion has 200 renown, one village as a fief and 4 leadership skill.
